Liga Privada Feral Flying Pig Review

Liga Privada Feral Flying Pig
Drew Estate
(5.4 X 60)
Price $ 16.90

By: Ryan Bloomer

I am going to open today with lyrics from one of my favorite rock songs "War Pigs" by Black Sabbath.  "Generals gathered in their masses, Just like witches at black masses."  Is the Feral a cigar that generals would gather in their masses to smoke?  Which leads me into today's review to find out if the FFP is the ultimate war pig.  The Liga Privada Feral is a Nicaraguan cigar with a dark chocolate Pennsylvania Broad Leaf wrapper.  The creamy dark wrapper reminds me of a chocolate bar that looks so good I almost wanted to bit into it.  The appearance of  the band is great, which is typical for the Liga Privada line.  Well lets toast this piggy and find out if the Feral is the ultimate war pig.  The first quarter of the FFP had some hints of pepper, cocoa, and coffee.  The cigar was very smooth from the beginning and had a huge smoke output.  The draw of the cigar was a little tight at first but seemed to ease up as I continued.  The smoke was a creamy thick white color that had a phenomenal aroma to it.  I continued on to the middle half of the cigar, and continued to taste hints of pepper, cocoa, and coffee.  The Feral has stayed very consistent throughout the first half of the smoke.  The construction of the cigar has been flawless.  The burn has stayed even and I never once had to touch up the cigar to even it out.  The last half of the cigar has stayed consistent with the first quarter but seems to have a strong tobacco taste that has kicked in to give it a hearty finish.  The Feral is everything you could want in a cigar from it's aroma to the taste it leaves on your palate.  It's time to use the 2 Cigar Guys And a Humidor Scale and give this pig a rating.  The Feral has earned a 10 out of 10 on the scale which equals a pure cigar dime piece.  There is no question that this cigar is a war pig, and people should gather in masses to get a box.  I would highly recommend that you keep this great cigar in your humidor and by a box.

Inch E.P. Carrillo Review

Inch (Natural)
E.P. Carrillo
(5.9 X 60)
Price $ 8.75

By: Ryan Bloomer

They say when you give someone an INCH they take a mile.  The question of today is if given an INCH is it worth smoking it on the journey to reach a mile?  Which leads me to today's cigar review of the Inch by E.P. Carrillo.  The wrapper and appearance of this cigar is just phenomenal.  The band has an gold and mustard yellow old fashion ruler appearance that just grabs your attention.  The appearance of the cigar is veiny and well rolled for an Ecuador Sumatra wrapper.  If just going off the appearance I would give it a 9 out of 10.  Time to toast this Inch and hope that it takes me the full mile.  The first quarter of the cigar had strong earthy taste to it with some light hints of spice.  The halfway point I could pick out an aroma of coffee bean and a continuance of spices.  I did have to correct the burn twice which for some reason seemed to burn faster on one side of the cigar.  The draw of the cigar is very clean and smooth and tends to burn fast.  The last quarter of the cigar I had to continue to correct the burn but the flavor was great.  I had strong hints of coffee bean with a cocoa creamy taste on my palate.  If the start of the cigar was like the end this cigar would just be a great smoke to have in your humidor.  The constant burn corrections and shaky start of the first quarter of the cigar I would rate this cigar a 7 out of 10 on the 2 Cigar Guys And a Humidor Scale.  I would definitely try this cigar again but I wouldn't go out of my way to stock it in my humidor by any means.

Olivia Master Blends III Review

Olivia
Master Blends III
Torpedo (6.0 X 52)

The definition of blend in the dictionary states to mix smoothly and inseparably together.  In this weeks review that's what Olivia seeks to due with its Master Blends III line.  Today I am on a blending mission to see if the Master Blends III should be a must buy for your humidor. The aroma from this cigar pre lit is just amazing.  I spent about a good five minutes just taking in the aroma before I could even toast this cigar up.  This box pressed beauty has a nice dark chocolate wrapper that is well constructed.  Well as I always say lets get this thing started.  The first quarter of this full bodied cigar was very earthy with some small amounts of leather.  I continued on to find that this cigar just continued to get better.  I am half way through with the Master Blends III and the construction and ash of the cigar is great.  The draw is surprisingly easy with a nice thick creamy smoke to compliment it.  The flavor has really started to pick up, lots of spice with maybe a little creamy cinnamon on my palate.  The cigar never gave me any fight and was very relaxing to smoke.  Well lets get this full bodied beauty rated with the 2 Cigar Guys And a Humidor rating scale.  The Master Blends III has earned a rating of 8.5 out of 10 on the scale.  There is no doubt that this cigar is a must smoke.  I highly recommend that you get one for the humidor if you haven't already.

Acid Kuba Maduro Review

The task of going through your humidor and trying to figure out what your going to smoke can be like a kid in the candy store trying to find his favorite candy.I happened to be looking into my infused humidor and spotted an Acid Kuba Maduro robusto by Drew Estate.  I have yet to try an Acid Kuba Maduro, so I figure it's time to dip into this infused explosion of possible flavor.  Well lets just get right into the cigar.  The smell of the cigar prelit is like a floral aroma mixed with candy.  The cigar was easy to lite and has a very easy to loose draw to it.  The beginning few draws tasted like I was eating Sweet' N Low mixed with potpourri.  The construction of the cigar seemed to hold up very well and burned even throughout my smoke.  The taste on the other hand was way to sweet.  I was able to pick up a little spice on my palate throughout the smoke, but mostly tasted like I licked a package of Sweet' N Low.  If you are looking for a traditional maduro smoke this cigar is definitely not for you. If you are in to infused cigars with a lot of  sugar and spice then you will enjoy this stick of sugar.  I have to say on a personal note I am not really impressed with Acid Kuba Maduro and probably will not smoke one again.  I decided to give the Acid Kuba Maduro a rating of 4 out of 10 on the 2 Cigar Guys And a Humidor Scale., which means I will probably not try this stick again.
